Our travels take us through France numerous times each year, and when we follow the southern route on the A6 motorway, we invariably take a night’s break in Beaune — a beautiful town situated at the heart of the Burgundy winemaking region.
This route has led us to frequent stays at the mid-priced Ibis La Ferme Aux Vins, part of the Accor hotel chain. Conveniently located just seven minutes from junction 24.1 of the A6 motorway and a mere 800 metres from the town centre, this hotel has become a staple in our travel itinerary along with many of our friends.
Ibis La Ferme Aux Vins offers ample on-site secure parking and excellent facilities, no matter how long your stay is in the Beaune region. The staff are exemplary, always courteous and willing to assist with any requests. The restaurant is another highlight, featuring an impressive selection of Burgundy wines to suit all budgets. However, the most crucial aspect for us is, undoubtedly, the quality of the beds.
Every time we stay at La Ferme Aux Vins, we enjoy an exceptional night’s sleep. The mattress is extraordinarily comfortable — a foam core mattress complemented by a separate topper that adds an extra layer of comfort. Both components adapt remarkably well to our body shapes, providing the perfect balance of support and softness. I can honestly say that I have never felt too warm during the night, which is a testament to the thoughtful design of the bedding.
The duvets further enhance the comfort level. According to the hotel’s description, they are hypoallergenic and crafted from 100% recycled fibres, which not only ensures a cosy sleep but also aligns with environmentally friendly practices. The pillows are equally comfortable, offering excellent support. Personally, I prefer two pillows, and after a brief visit to reception on our last visit, a second pillow was promptly delivered to our room, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Verdict
The Ibis La Ferme Aux Vins boasts an exceptionally comfortable bed that guarantees a restful sleep, this hotel will undoubtedly remain a favourite stopover on our travel list — unless, of course, they decide to change the beds! With its combination of superb bedding, excellent facilities, and outstanding service, it meets our requirement of a reasonably priced hotel as a overnight stay ensuring we resume our journey the next morning fully refreshed
